The Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Health of the Iran University of Medical Sciences is responsible for providing, maintaining, and improving the health of the covered population (more than 5 million people) by planning, organizing, evaluating, and providing healthcare services, using innovative and creative methods.

1. Strengthening healthcare services in participation with the private sector in suburban areas
2. Optimizing resources by implementing health programs by adopting an entrepreneurial approach

4. Promoting disease management system and monitoring diseases in the covered regions, focusing on emerging and re-emerging diseases
5. Establishing health infrastructures in service delivery
6. Modifying and strengthening the monitoring role and function in promoting the health of the covered regions with a focus on protecting client rights
7. Modifying and strengthening the referral system and family physician plan
8. Managing disaster risks and increasing disaster preparedness with an all-hazard approach
9. Improving health literacy of the covered population
10. Developing applied research and generating knowledge in the field of health
 
Specific Objectives
1. Conducting feasibility studies on organization and integration (unification) of healthcare information registration systems
2. Strengthening the statistics department to record and analyze statistical data
3. Establishing comprehensive healthcare stations and centers at a 100% rate
4. Identifying and using the capacity of at least two NGOs to attract participation and increase population coverage
5. Providing required human resources, including physicians and healthcare providers at a 70% rate
6. Increasing the coverage of neonatal care to 60%
7. Holding seasonal state secretary healthcare workshops to increase participation
8. Identifying organizations influencing healthcare and signing cooperation agreements at a 10% rate
9. Covering the self-care plan up to 70% of the covered population until the end of the program
10. Improving health literacy of the covered population up to 20% of the base year
11. Improving the quality of health team training in providing full service packages by 50%
12. Improving the health monitoring and evaluation systems to provide full service packages by 50%
13. Linking merit pay payments to complete delivery of service packages
14. Empowering the staff of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Health by 100%
15. Providing 10% of the equipment needed to improve disaster preparedness on an annual basis
16. Training the entire covered population on disaster preparedness
17. Identifying and attracting the participation of extra-sectoral organizations in healthcare
18. Identifying and implementing two joint programs with extra-sectoral organizations in disaster response preparedness
19. Developing healthcare system research projects by implementing two research projects in the field of healthcare
20. Increasing applied research projects by 50%
21. Identifying health research centers and designing and implementing two joint research projects per year
22. Improving the implementation of monitoring and evaluation and reviewing and modifying the monitoring process
23. Tracking and analyzing 100% of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Health’s program monitoring results
24. Maintaining and promoting health indicators based on national and communicated indicators
