Job Description

  • Collection of medical and equipment needs of the networks and affiliated centers through the Department’s Headquarters, as well as summarizing and sending it to the Ministry of Health and Medical Education
  • Realistic estimation of medicine and medical equipment required by affiliated units and their provision based on the budget
  • Coordination for allocation of pharmaceutical items and medical equipment from the Ministry of Health for the University
  • Inter-departmental collaboration for provision of required medicine and equipment from other universities or the private sector
  • Receipt of the quota allocated to the university from the medical storage of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and other universities or purchase from private sector and delivery to the medical storage of the university
  • Storage and maintenance of the required medicine and medical equipment according to the pharmaceutical storage regulations
  • Coordination with affiliated centers to determine the quotas of medication and equipment for each center
  • Distribution of the quota of each center and sending to affiliated health centers based on the list of requests, inventory, and treatment protocols, the number of vulnerable groups, indigenous and seasonal diseases, and communicated instructions
  • Supervision and monitoring of medical storage of the Department and counties
  • Supervision of activities and actions of pharmaceutical experts in rural and urban centers and covered pharmacies and feedback
  • Follow-up on health equipment issues
  • Cooperation in continuing education for health professionals, pharmaceutical experts, and pharmacists in their fields
  • Planning and follow up on the necessary measures to improve the storage quality, as well as monitoring optimal maintenance
  • Compilation of texts and periodic training and retraining courses based on the needs of departments for different levels of the network on pharmaceutical issues
  • Participation and collaboration in implementing health plans to provide timely delivery of required medication based on proposed protocols
  • Participation in the educational planning of the Department of Social Medicine, Para-Medicine, and Nursing in order to provide therapeutic protocols used in the healthcare system
  • Collaboration on the study of provincial prescriptions and participation in the formulation of patterns and guidelines for prescribing and rational consumption of medication and health services
  • Implementation of procedures for improving pharmaceutical system and optimal use of medication in the network system based on policies and objectives
  • Collection, analysis, and evaluation of medical statistics and information obtained from university level health centers in accordance with standard forms
