 Introduction
 
Global health is defined as international activities and research collaboration with the goal of promoting health for all the people. In other words, global health is an international field of science incorporating research and interventions with the main purpose of health promotion and health equity for people of the world regardless of race, religion and citizenship. Global health is built upon national efforts for population health and encompasses strategies for health promotion at both individual and population level not only in health sector but all the other sectors. The collaboration in the context of global health implies attention and emphasis on vital importance of cooperation in all the health matters specifically global affairs due to the diversity of determinants and different organizations that are involved in resolving these issues. Global health not only provides a background for solving problems beyond national levels but also provides an opportunity for exchanging experiences between counties and regions that are in health transition phase.
 
Vision 
To reach the optimum level possible for health in countries of the region by means of prioritizing problems, evidence-informed policy-making, facilitating implementation of cost-effective interventions, monitoring and evaluation.
 
Mission 
1-Identifying regional collaborators concerning health issues and communication with them for exchanging and reinforcing resources, knowledge and experiences.
2-Conducting research projects to determine level of health among population of the countries in the region.
3-Conducting secondary studies to identify the most effective interventions for health promotion and health equity.
4-Implementing interventional programs to improve public health and health equity. 

  Research Areas
 1-Studies about burden of diseases and risk factors at national and international/regional levels.
2-Health equity studies at national and international levels.
3-Designing health intervention programs to decrease the burden of diseases with higher priorities .
4-Cost-effective studies on health interventions to promote health equity.
5-Studies to evaluate health programs and interventions at national and international/regional levels.
6-Studies to monitor Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and relevant targets in regional countries. 

Strategies 
1-To build a network of collaborators in different countries close to the geographic region of Iran including staff, experts and directors of health systems, health ministries, public health organizations, medical universities, allied health and health affiliated fields .
2-Collaboration in conducting joint research projects with countries of the region and at international level.
3-Identifying stakeholders involved in health policy of regional countries.
4-Consulting with regional countries to promote health equity. 
 
Contribution to health promotion and health equity in the region by introducing and implementing the most effective interventions during one decade.
 
Outputs:
Necessary information and evidence regarding health and its distribution in the region for evidence-informed policy making.
Policy brief for policymakers.
Health service packages for specific populations considering their needs and available resources. 
 Plans:
Identification, communication and conducting joint projects with regional and international collaborators.
Identification, communication and conducting joint projects with active international health organizations in the region.
 Collaboration in creating regional cooperative network with regard to public health.
