Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. An undergraduate applicant is a student working toward a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. We consider you an undergraduate applicant if you have graduated from high school and are applying to our university. A postgraduate applicant is a student who has already completed the first-level university study and wishes to pursue their education beyond the first university level. Obviously, postgraduate applicants should have a university degree in a field related to their desired field of study.


Official transcripts

Applicants must submit their final transcript, which includes your final semester's marks and evidence that you have completed your degree. If you have completed studies from a number of post-secondary institutions, you will need to submit a final transcript from each institution at which you studied.
Your university can e-mail your final transcript directly to or you can mail your transcript directly to Office of Vice-Chancellor for International affairs, Iran University of Medical Sciences, Hemmat Highway, Tehran, Iran, as long as it remains in its sealed envelope.

Grade Point Average

We use GPA (Grade Point Average) measurement system. The minimum acceptable high school diploma GPA for applicants to IUMS is 3.00.

Application process
All applicants have to fill out the Application form.
The applicant will receive a confirmation email within 3 working days.
The application form submitted is initially reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
The application form is then sent to the related school after the Admission Committee's approval.
The applicant will then be noted to confirm their acceptance by forwarding a completed Student Visa Form to the  Admissions Office in to process the applicant's entry visa. International students should apply for and obtain a Student Visa before  begin to study at universities in Iran. Other types of visas, including a tourist visa, are not acceptable.

Application period

Students’ intake at Iran University of Medical Sciences is on September and January. Applications can be submitted at any time without any limitation, but they are considered for the first start date available. We recommend you to apply as early as possible since the visa application process is time-consuming and may delay University enrollment.
